Soccer on the Mat (TM)

Artemis Yoga is excited to exclusively host Soccer on the Mat (TM) again this fall and winter. Developed by Boston College Women’s Soccer Head Coach, Alison Foley, Soccer on the Mat (TM) is a unique and innovative soccer and yoga program for girls (ages 10-14.) Coach Foley’s curriculum focuses on building and celebrating the physical and emotional growth of adolescent girls through a variety of footwork drills, yoga poses and conversation. Each class is designed to:

  • Improve soccer fitness and technique while decreasing soccer-specific injuries
  • Strengthen both the body and mind of the soccer athlete
  • Grow confidence and body awareness through teamwork and mindfulness focused activities

The Soccer on the Mat class also includes Brazilian fast footwork drills to make you more confident on the ball, improve your first touch and master your 1 v 1 dribbling moves. Coach Foley supervises and trains each Soccer on the Mat teacher who is uniquely skilled in both yoga and soccer instruction.

2017-2018 Schedule

  • Eight-week session starts in January 2018
  • Classes on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons
  • Student may sign up for 1 or 2 classes a week per session

Thursday – January 18 to March 15
